The first meeting of the advisory committee is today.

Sheriff Mike Hale has invited community members to form a citizen advisory committee in reference to the recent initiative of equipping our personnel with body-worn cameras and car cameras. This advisory committee is a cross-section of area leaders and citizens of diverse race and gender, professionals and Clergy. They will view a demonstration of how the system operates, have a question and answer session and a working luncheon. After the meeting, they will be asked to go back and get input from others in their respective communities and return at a future date to give input on our written policy for use of this new tool.

This initial meeting is today at 10:30 am at the Sheriff’s Office Headquarters. Media is invited to cover this meeting. Please call 205-325-5711 to confirm attendance.
