Assigned Tasks:

  • Conducting personnel background checks for employment
  • Conducts investigations of major misconduct lodged against personnel and Reserve Deputies Recommending appointments to all classified, non-classified positions
  • Conducting Reserve Deputy applicant investigations
  • Receives personnel complaints
  • Makes position vacancy announcements for vacant positions within the Sheriff’s Office
  • Assists in disciplinary procedures
  • Issues badges
  • Maintains the departments employment and disciplinary records
  • Recruits employee candidates at universities and public events
  • Request lists of qualified applicants from the Jefferson County Personnel Board
  • Conducts investigations at the direction of the Sheriff
  • Performs research and policy recommendations
  • Manages the Student Intern Program
